Different Types of Haemorrhoids

There are different degrees of haemorrhoids. First degree haemorrhoids are swollen veins, which remain in the anal canal. Second degree haemorrhoids can be prolapsed – for example when faeces are passed but they return to the anal canal afterwards. Third degree haemorrhoids are pushed down and do not return automatically.

First and second degree haemorrhoids can be relieved using treatment such as Germoloids – see below. Second and third degree haemorrhoids may require referral to hospital for treatment.
