Different Types of Piles
There are different degrees of piles. First degree
piles are swollen veins, which remain in the anal canal. Second
degree piles can be prolapsed – for example when faeces are
passed but they return to the anal canal afterwards. Third degree
piles are pushed down and do not return automatically.
First and second degree
piles can be relieved using treatment such as Germoloids – see
below. Second and third degree piles may require referral to
hospital for treatment. |
